Great results for the ON-TRAC consortium in the IWSLT 2019 evaluation campaign!

The ON-TRAC consortium has participated to the international evaluation campaign on speech translation organized in the framework of the 16th International Workshop on Spoken Language Translation (IWSLT 2019).

We have built an end-to-end neural system that to translate English to Portuguese in the end-to-end model category.

We are proud to announce that our system got the best official results in this task (grey lines indicate end-to-end systems, while white ones indicate the use of a classical cascade approach). We also can notice that end-to-end model results become close to the one got by cascade systems.

The system description paper is now available: https://zenodo.org/record/3525556#.XcQA5S97SUM
